Cosmetic dentistry with Dr. Carrasco in Cancun

Dentcare Cancun: A perfect destination for those who want to wear a beautiful smile!

Cosmetic dentistry, as the name suggests, is the branch of dentistry which deals with the enhancement of facial and dental esthetics. Hence, it is one of the most wanted dental specialties. The cosmetic dental procedures performed by Dr. Jorge Carrasco go in harmony with an individual’s facial features and his/her personality.

First of all, Dr. Carrasco tries to understand what the patient expects from him and what his needs are. Then, a careful assessment of the mouth is performed. Now the doctor explains the possible treatment options to the patient that are most appropriate for him and leaves the decision on him to choose. With patient’s consent, Dr. Carrasco proceeds on with the selected treatment option.

Four most important cosmetic procedures performed at Dentcare, Mexico are-

1.  Dental bonding

- Minor tooth problems like chipping off from sides, gaps between teeth or crown lengthening can be corrected by the procedure of dental bonding.

- Composite resin is used for this purpose.

- It is available in various shades and hues and the most suitable shade can be matched with the remaining teeth and used for filling

- A special light is used for hardening the resin that is applied in layer-by-layer manner.

- Finally, Dr. Carrasco polishes the filling to render a natural luster that matches with the neighboring teeth.

2. Dental veneers or Lumineers

- These are thin shells that are made out of porcelain mostly and cover the front surfaces of the teeth.

- They are used to conceal minor dental defects like pits on teeth, chipped off teeth, abnormally small or thin teeth and likewise.

- These veneers are stuck to the teeth with the help of dental cement.  For thinner restoration materials, Dr Carrasco uses Lumineers as an alternative

3. Dental crowns

- Dental crowns cover or cap a tooth completely on all surfaces.

- It is recommended for those cases wherein the rest of the procedures have been proven ineffective.

- Though many materials can be used for the fabrication of a dental crown, Zirconia is regarded to be the best due to its strength and durability even at thin layers and the unbeatable esthetic qualities.

- Dr. Jorge believes in giving the best to his patients.  Zirconia is the preferred crown material at Dentcare in Cancun, Mexico

4. Teeth whitening

- This treatment deals with problems like yellowing or staining of teeth.

-  Professional teeth whitening performed at Dentcare can lighten your teeth by at least 4 to 8 shades depending on the severity of the stains.

- To hasten the procedure of teeth whitening, Dr. Carrasco employs special lights that cleave the molecules of the whitening agent and kick-start the chemical reaction.

Apart from those mentioned above, there are many other treatment procedures that are performed to enhance the esthetics of a person. So, next time if you feel shy to look at a mirror while you smile, simply visit us at Dentcare in Cancun and we promise to give you a smile that you will cherish throughout your life!

Doctor Jorge Carrasco - Dental implants in Cancun, Mexico

Improve your smile with Doctor Jorge Carrasco’s dental implants
Dental implants are artificial root like titanium screws that are surgically inserted within the jaw bone of a person. In Cancun, Mexico you get your dental implants done by Doctor Jorge Carrasco who is an expert in the field of implant dentistry. Not only are these implants durable, they impart an extremely natural look.

To get a better understanding of how an implant serves its purpose, it is important to understand that a natural tooth has two parts- a crown and a root. A crown is the part that is within the oral cavity and is visible to a dentist when you open your mouth. A root is buried deep within your jaw bone. An implant acts like your tooth-root. To this structure, a crown or a bridge or a denture can be placed and the purpose of tooth replacement is achieved.

Now you must be wondering why I need a dental implant when I can get a crown, bridge or denture done and placed otherwise. Why should I invest on dental implants first and then for the rest of the tooth replacement options (dental crown, bridge or denture)? Well, we welcome you at Dentcare, Cancun, Doctor Jorge Carrasco’s practice, where our team will explain you the importance of dental implants.
Basically dental implants have become a favorite choice of Mexico dentists and dental tourism patients as far as tooth replacement options are concerned. The reasons for the growing popularity of dental implants are-
·         High sense of esthetics
·         Extremely durable
·         A natural feel along with natural looks
·         Lasts for a lifetime hence a wise investment decision
·         Functions in a natural way so you can enjoy your favorite foods
·         Inhibits further bone loss- Once a dental implant is placed, it holds the surrounding bone and hence prevents its loss
·         Maintenance of the shape and form of the face
Doctor Jorge Carrasco, a Dayo Dental partner dentist in Cancun, Mexico, has earned acclamation in Mexico as a proficient implant dentist. With a track record of having installed over 8000 implants in his career of 31 years, Dr. Carrasco has left no scope of doubt regarding his brilliance and excellence in implant procedures.

Dr. Carrasco has always generated happy customers because he believes in studying any given case thoroughly before proceeding with it. This holds true even with dental implants as well. If you approach us at Dentcare, Cancun with a complaint of missing teeth, Doctor Carrasco will attend you and during the phase of consultation, analyze the condition of your mouth and check if your jaw bone has adequate quantity or quality or not. The jaw bone must be sufficient enough to support or anchor a dental implant. If it is thin, as seen in elderly patients, the implants don’t last for a long time. In case of bone deficiency, Dr. Jorge recommends bone grafting first and then asks to go for dental implants.
Once the implants are installed, it is your responsibility to maintain them in a clean oral environment by following routine oral hygiene measures religiously and visiting the dentist once in six months for regular check-ups.

Is Cancun more expensive than Mexico border for dental care?

Dr. Carrasco explains why going to Cancun (vs Mexico border) could be more affordable
Which is cheaper? Should I fly to Cancun, Mexico or should I go to the Mexico border for dental care?
Of course it’s less expensive if you can just drive just less than 4 hours to the US-Mexico border.  But what if you are from Chicago, Colorado, or Canada?  Where would it be cheaper?
Doctor Jorge Carrasco
According to Dr. Jorge Carrasco, a dentist that practices Prosthodontics in Cancun, Mexico, “Cancun could be cheaper, contrary to what you may initially think”.  Here’s why…
You can find more selection of hotels in Cancun, Mexico
Cancun is made for tourism.  In fact, it’s the #1 destination city for Americans abroad.
Hence, you can find more selection of places to stay.  Especially if travel during low season (August to October and January to February), you can find great deals on hotels, as low as $50 per night.
If you like to save even more, you can go in Airbnb to rent a house or condo from private parties.  In this way, you don’t have to spend money dining out all the time.  You can make your own food in these fully furnished places with a full kitchen.
Dr. Carrasco had a Russian family of 10 once.  The cost would have been expensive if they all had to stay in hotels and dine out all the time.  Dr. Carrasco and team helped them get accommodation in a nice villa for less than $2000 per week.  The Russian family was very happy with their accommodations and dental work.
You can find a great selection of all inclusive deals, including airfare, hotel, food and drinks for as inexpensive as $100 per day.  Keep searching online.
If you want just a basic hotel close to Dentcare, Dr. Jorge Carrasco’s dental facility, you can stay in several hotels for as low as $50 per night.
Most Mexico border destinations are not really tourist destinations.  People travel there just for dental work.  Hence, you won’t find the same selection of hotels and places to stay as Cancun.
Local transportation is free with Dr. Jorge Carrasco
Most hotels, especially all-inclusive resorts, provide transportation between the airport and your hotel.  Likewise, Cancun has plenty of affordable public transportation.

If you travel to see Dr. Carrasco, he provides complimentary shuttle pickup from the airport to your hotel, as well as from the hotel to your dental appointments.  You won’t have to worry about local transportation.
If you fly to your destination along the US-Mexico border, oftentimes, you have to rent a car.  That’s an extra $20-$30 a day on your cost.  There aren’t as many transportation providers along the US-Mexico border.
Dental cost is about the same for high-quality dentistry
If you are seeking high-quality dentistry, the cost is about the same for Cancun vs those Mexico border dental tourism destinations (such as Tijuana, Los Algodones, or Juarez).
Dayo Dental clients get preferred pricing with Dr. Jorge Carrasco.  As a Dayo client, you pay less than what Dr. Carrasco normally charges his regular patients.  It’s one of the ways you can save on your dental care by going to Cancun, Mexico.

Dr. Jorge Carrasco Provides Advice on Avoiding Dental Malpractice

Dr. Jorge Carrasco provides advice on how to avoid dental malpractice
Dental malpractice can happen anywhere, whether it’s in the US, Canada, or Mexico.
According to Dr. Jorge Carrasco, a Mexico dentist practicing in Cancun, the key is prevention.  You as a patient can avoid dental malpractice by educating yourself and knowing the pitfalls that lead to selecting a bad dentist.
Dentists that put fake reviews are possibly hiding their bad reviews
We rely a lot in online reviews.  From buying products in Amazon, to selecting restaurants, online reviews give us crowd-sourced feedback about the quality of the product or service that we are buying.
Unfortunately, many doctors and dentist take advantage of your reliance on reviews by putting out fake reviews and manipulating the internet.  Google can easily be manipulated to hide bad reviews.
Treat lots of positive reviews with a grain of all.  According to Dr Jeffrey Segal JD, a leading authority in dealing with patient reviews, 1 in 10 patients will not be completely happy with the service of any doctor or dentist.
Dr. Carrasco said that patients that give honest reviews provide details about their dental experience.  They describe how they felt about the doctor, the facilities, and overall service.
With Dayo Dental, a dental network in Mexico that includes Dr. Jorge Carrasco, each and every patient review is verified with a phone call.
Know your dental case before you travel
Dr. Jorge Carrasco recommends that you see a local US or Canadian dentist first before travelling to Cancun for dental care.  In this way, you can get an idea of the kind of dental work you need, especially if you need major dental work.
Dr Jorge Carrasco

By knowing how many porcelain crowns or root canals you need, or how many implants you need for permanent dentures, you can spot a dentist that can potentially give you bad dental care.  For example, you can walk away if he is recommending more root canals than you need or if he is bypassing proper protocols such as ignoring the need for a sinus lift (before an implant surgery) when it is necessary.
Dental malpractice occurs when a dishonest dentist takes advantage of your limited knowledge about your dental work.
Seek a specialist in Cancun for the type of work you need
If you are seeking just less than 6 crowns, filling, and dental whitening, it’s ok just to go with a general dentist in Cancun to perform your work.
However, if you need cosmetic dentistry, full mouth restoration or multiple implants, it’s best to find a dentist with a specialty.  Dentists with specialty went to school an extra 2-3 years to train for the type of major dental work you need.

According to Dr. Carrasco, other dentists can easily destroy your mouth if they are not qualified to work on your case.  In the case of full mouth rehabilitation, dentists in Cancun not only have to know how to install crowns, they also have to know how to balance your bite and occlusion in consideration of your facial features.  This is heavily studied in Prosthodontics, a dental specialty of Dr. Carrasco that deals with aesthetics and optimally restoring your entire mouth.
The most common types of specialty in dentistry are Prosthodontics (Prosthodontist), Periodontics (Periodontist), Endodontics (Endodontist), Orthodontics (Orthodontist), Pediatric Dentistry (Pediatrician), and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
Get a written guarantee on your dental work before you leave
Many dentists in Mexico say they guarantee their work.  But few provide a written guarantee.
In case of dental malpractice, you’ll need to have something to hold the dentist accountable.
Doctor Jorge Carrasco, for example, provides a 5 year written guarantee to all of his Dayo Dental patients.

Dental malpractice can easily double or triple your cost, plus the hassle and toll on your health.  In worst case scenarios, the dentist can destroy your teeth.  It’s best to educate yourself about navigating through online reviews and properly selecting the right dentist.
